Who we take

To be considered for a role in the Auditor-General’s Department applicants must be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident at the time of applying.

Audit staff need to have a degree in accounting or commerce (majoring in accounting) that meets requirements for the professional accounting program offered by CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (accredited tertiary course entry pathway).

Applicants considering an audit role at the ASO6 or higher level are required to have full membership status with CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Other roles may need different qualifications which will be stipulated in the role description.
