This program helps you to settle into your new job, learn how the Department works and provides you with the skills to be successful in your role.
It includes a mix of formal learning and on-the-job training and coaching in your teams. You will have the opportunity to learn and socialise with other graduates.
After a structured one week induction program, you will join your team and start your on‑the‑job training. Your team will help you to gain the practical knowledge you need to undertake your work. They will also be there to help you explore your aspirations, creating meaningful short and long term career goals. You will have regular formal and informal performance conversations with your manager to ensure your learning is on track and to discuss your development.
Your on-the-job training is complemented by formal training through classroom presentations and workshops that cover both technical and personal skills including:
- audit methodology
- audit software
- business cycles
- working in government
- work practices
- communication and interpersonal skills
- working in teams
- working with clients
- report writing.
